BACKGROUNDER

Before launching Blue Moon Communications in 2001, Theresa spent over a decade working in public relations for corporations, public relations agencies and publishers garnering millions of dollars in media coverage for her clients on national television and in daily newspapers. In 2002 she secured placement for her client Carly Phillips as the third pick of the Kelly Ripa's Book Club resulting in The Bachelor staying on the New York Times list for eight weeks. She placed a second client, Vicki Lewis Thompson as a 2003 pick of Kelly Ripa's Book Club with the book Nerd in Shining Armor, which also launched Thompson onto the New York Times list for the first time.

Her work for clients has also appeared in the LA Times, Chicago Sun Times, Dallas Morning News, Arizona Republic, Arizona Business Gazette, Arizona Business Journal, Better Homes and Gardens, Popular Mechanics, Southern Living, Vegetarian Times, Shape magazine, Leaders magazine, and many others. Other publications which have published her articles include Phoenix Magazine, The Tribune Newspapers, Phoenix Ariz., Cat Fancy, Dog Fancy, Cats USA, Kittens USA, Natural Dog, PANdora's Box, EDIT, Merlin's Pen, Pet Product News, the Romance Writers' Report, Veterinary Practice News and The News-Register, McMinnville, OR. She is also worked for three years as Canadian news columnist for Pet Product News and worked for the daily paper in Roseburg, Oregon, The News-Review.

Today, Theresa shows clients the secrets of killer promotion by keeping their messages clear, their relations with the media positive and their efforts focused on brand building. Her client list includes New York Times bestsellers and first time authors, as well as publishers including MIRA and Red Sage Publishing.

Theresa obtained a bachelor of arts honors degree in Mass Communication, with emphasis on public relations in 1993 from Linfield College in McMinnville, Ore. She has furthered her education and maintained her skills as a professional communicator through her membership in several national organizations including the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), the National Writers Union (NWU) and Romance Writers of America (RWA).
